Description:
Dartmouth Formula Racing - DFR - is a student-run organization at the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.
The team designs and manufactures formula-style racecars and produces outstanding leaders and engineers in the process.
Each year the team competes against 140 schools from all over the world at the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) competition in Michigan.
Also attending Formula Student in England over the summer.
The flagship racecar saw dramatic improvements in 2006, including implementation of a turbo-charged powertrain running on E85 ethanol fuel, an on-board data acquisition system to monitor over 20 dynamic parameters, and full carbon fiber bodywork.
Dartmouth Formula Racing is also expanding into new and exciting areas of automotive engineering with a continued interest in "green" technologies.
