Heartland Park Topeka - In its 18 year history, the drag strip has placed HPT on the racing map. The NHRA has burned up the strip from the beginning and in 2007 will return for the 19th annual O’Reilly Summer Nationals.
After completely repaving the entire 2.5 mile road course, new paddocks and other facilities upgrades in 2006, HPT has become a major venue for road racing in the United States.
Nextel Cup stars; Clint Bowyer, Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace raced in the first annual Capital City Clash in 06', ending the first full season of regular dirt racing on the 3/8th mile oval in over two years.
HPT hosts numerous non racing events from state and community events such as AT&T Armed Forces Day celebration and the Sunflower State Games, to private business and corporate outings and retreats.
