Race Against Drugs (RAD) is a partnership in drug education by 23 American motor sports organizations, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention. It relies on the ingenuity, participation, and collective support from individual racers, the racing industry, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, educators, and the business community to succeed. RAD captures the color and excitement of racing and the commitment by America's racing heroes to convey to youth that there is no such thing as "harmless" drug use. We use the same techniques as corporate advertising -- the subliminal message approach -- to provide young people with creative options, in either group activities or individual activities, to successfully handle the drug issues that face them on a day-to-day basis.
