The track has won National and Regional awards, including the North American Racing Insurance National Excellence in Safety Award.
Promoters Lynn Phillips and Alfred Gurley were named Racing Promoters Monthly Southeastern Region Promoters of the Year numerous times, including 2006.
In 1989 National newspaper "USA Today" named Talladega Short Track among the best dirt tracks in the United States.
