<description>Advanced Vehicle Research Center - AVRC World class and focused on next generation research and development, the Advanced Vehicle Research Center is a public-private partnership that matches the talents of multi-national automotive companies with those of North Carolina's leading universities.

The Mission of the Advanced Vehicle Research Center is to provide a modern automotive testing facility for use in the design, development, testing and certification of advanced vehicle technologies, sub-systems and components.

The facility will provide a safe, secure, and private environment that will demonstrably reduce the time and cost of product development. Located in eastern North Carolina, the Center is easily accessible by Interstate 95 and is serviced by three international airports: Raleigh-Durham International, Richmond International, and Norfolk International.

What will the AVRC provide? Initially, the Center will include:

    * A four mile test track developed by AVRC and Lotus.
